Solo and Panther have a chance encounter at a bar and sparks definitely fly between them, but when the brooding and very reserved Panther sees the dog tags peeking from Solo's t-shirt, he backs off. What a lovely trilogy! If you, like me, went "Wait a minute." when you watched Top Gun and was just waiting for romance to bloom in the flight academy, this is definitely for you! From the titles to the overall vibe, this will hit the spot. I'm sure that their other books are perfectly lovely, but I don't think that the style is for me. Overall, I don't think that these are authors that I'll read again. These two were just two overly-perfect alpha-males, and it grew old really fast. People have imperfections, and it would have been nice to see some, particularly after Panther's accident, where it would make sense for him to have some kind of scarring. While the writing lacked a solid sense of setting, I felt like I was inundated with how "perfect" Solo and Panther's bodies were. Additionally, the descriptions were all over the place. It was only *part* of a story, and on its own, it wasn't satisfying. The sad part is, that I think Solo and Panther's story would have worked better if it were actually in one book, because each "book" lacked character arcs, romance arcs, and a rounded plot. Apparently, I'm in the minority, but I really tried with this "trilogy" (it's not a trilogy, it's one book that I have to pay for three times).
